Located at the intersection of Shengli road and Zhongshan Road, the Pingtung County Government has put in the efforts to rehabilitate former dormitories of air force officers, and turned it into the VictoryStar in Pingtung (VIP) Zone. The Jiu-Hao-Sheng Market is named with the similar pronunciation to the Taiwanese word “very fun,” where variety of merchandises are sold, such as local agricultural products, processed goods, and accessories that help de-stressing, as well as specially made creative hand-crafts. There are more surprises to be found at the market.
In addition, there are also spaces and events for parents and kids to enjoy a good time together. With a small stage where music is played, visitors can imagine themselves traveling back in time to the good old days at the village.

This farmers’ market is organized by the farms and independent farmers who produce organic and environmental friendly agricultural products. The event is put together spontaneously by the farmers, who would make sure the quality of the merchandise sold at the market is up to standards beforehand. The merchandises include variety of fresh produce and primary processed agricultural products. Whoever visits the market will sure return with bags of goodies.
The local agricultural products farmed, produced, and marketed solely by the farmers represent their hard workers done throughout. The farmers took care of their agricultural products like how they would treat their own family, and they would love to share these unique Pingtung goods with everyone. At this market, new inhabitants from around the world, who have moved and settled down in Pingtung, have brought delicious cuisine, beautiful crafts, and rich cultural sensation to the locals and visitors from outside of the county. You may find homemade food, desserts, and beverages…etc.
What’s special about this market is that, the new inhabitants would put on their traditional outfit from their countries, and bring their family member(s) to participate in the grand celebration. Through the liveliness of the event in a celebratory atmosphere, the new inhabitants can interact with one another and visitors to ease the home-sick feelings, as well as creating heart-warming cultural interactions.

On a farm next to the Provincial Highway 1, beautiful off-white tents are installed with wooden booths in countryside style. The colors of the farm and the installations would bring the visitors a sense of traveling to a small town in the countryside in Europe.
During every Saturday and Sunday, this venue becomes a market for young entrepreneurs to display and/or sell their works and merchandises. They can interact and have experience exchange with one another and with visitors to generate new creativity. The installed tents are not only for business, but visitors can also make reservation for it, as well as purchasing delightful food from the vendors in the venue. Come on out and be surrounded with nature with friends and do an easy picnic while catching up with each other. The best way to spend a great time is to have good company in a field where worries are forgotten.
Chaozhou - Farm and Fun

At this market, you may find things like indigenous family recipe, house accessories (such as DIY foot bath bags), and organic agricultural products brought by ladies from the local communities. By participating in selling things at the market, locals and visitors are able to share thoughts and experiences, as well as boosting the local economy, providing some extra income for the families of the community.
Simultaneously, there would be traditional indigenous activities and events for visitors to participate in and experience to learn about their culture. From sales to food, crafts to activities, one can see different sides of the indigenous culture.
Participants of the market only have to pay a small fee for cleaning, which would be collected and used as the education fund for the Wen-Le elementary school, and provide aids.

The commodities of this market are all developed with the concept of resource sustainability and ecological balance, which is utterly important to the mountains and forests. The market is set among the lush forests, and there is a miniature version of Er-Feng Canal built in the park. Accompanied by live music performances, visitors can enjoy the event sitting or lying down on the grass. With the soft music waving and circling while the gentle breeze is blowing, it is definitely the perfect place to stop by when traveling in Pingtung.

Formerly the “Pingtung Living Market” till 2021, the Hengchun Peninsula Travelers’ Market offers agricultural commodities and handmade crafts by independent farmers and artists from the peninsula, as well as shows performed by live bands, musician, and street performers. In addition, the county government merge the market with themed event and occasionally hosts exhibitions on ecological traveling and environment-friendly agriculture. Combine all aspect in the style of the peninsula, travelers and visitors are able to experience the charm of Hengchun by sight, by sound, and by taste.

To support youth micro-entrepreneurship and increase their chances of starting a successful enterprise, Pingtung County Government established its own brand " Hó-Pîng-iú Market " and has accompanied more than 500 local youth groups for 3 years since 2021. Every year, youth creative local brand market is regularly held with art and cultural performance activities to provide opportunities for young entrepreneurs to increase visibility and exposure, showcase professionalism and creation as well as undertaking a series of courses on brand management. Products from those startups can be more widely known, thereby promoting product sales and improving the operational stability of young entrepreneurs.
