每年冬天，東北季風來到恆春半島，因地形作用增強，成為車城海口熟悉的落山風。風吹動沙灘的輪廓，穿過港灣與巷弄，也在居民長久的相處中，成為地方生活的節奏。這股風有著海口的名字與性格，卻始終與更遼闊的世界相連。2026落山風藝術季以「平行呼吸」為題，邀集來自臺灣、澳洲、墨西哥、法國、丹麥、日本、韓國與馬來西亞等八地的藝術家，讓海口成為跨越國界的藝術交會之地。

「平行」是不同地方同時展開的生活，各有記憶與步調；「呼吸」則是身體與環境持續的往來。季風連結遠近的地域，藝術讓不同文化的經驗得以交流。透過各地藝術家的觀看，海口熟悉的日常有了新的理解，遠方的故事也變得可以親近。

展覽由沙灘、港灣延伸至村落。沙灘上的地景作品讓風參與創作；海口港與看海美術館以海洋生命與旅途的想像，連起此岸與彼方；村落裡的老屋、料理與歌聲，則讓異地的創意走進在地生活，在看展、飲食與停留之間，展開交流。今年藝術家、居民與來訪的人，帶著不同的故事，共度一段有風的時光，也讓海口透過藝術，與世界持續往來。​​​

Each winter, the northeast monsoon sweeps across Taiwan’s Hengchun Peninsula, gathering strength to become Luo Shan Feng, the powerful seasonal wind of Haikou. Shaping the coastline and the rhythms of everyday life, this wind is deeply rooted in Haikou yet connected to a much wider world.

Under the theme Parallel Breathing, the 2026 festival brings together artists from Taiwan, Australia, Mexico, France, Denmark, Japan, South Korea, and Malaysia.

“Parallel” speaks to lives unfolding in different places, each with its own memories and rhythms. “Breathing” reflects the constant exchange between people and their surroundings. Like the wind, art connects distant places, bringing fresh perspectives to familiar landscapes and everyday life.

Spanning the beach, harbor, and village, the festival moves from wind-responsive installations and maritime imaginings to old houses, local cuisine, and folk songs. Here, artists, residents, and visitors come together, allowing local stories and distant cultures to meet, and Haikou to breathe with the world.​​
