The artist once served in the Coast Guard, giving him a deep familiarity with ports and their rhythms. In this work, he transforms his signature characters—Baron Gymnast and Meishou—into symbolic guides welcoming vessels home, evoking the role of navigators and the beacon-like presence of a lighthouse. He further adds a spinning, illuminated pinwheel to the Baron’s hand, enhancing the work’s sense of direction and signaling.
