The once-lively ancestral houses of Haikou have gradually weathered with time, yet the wind remains. In winter, the Luoshan Wind carries the tang of sea salt, moving through corridors and courtyards as if awakening the daily rhythms of an old seaside household. The salty wind gathers at the threshold, like a warm flame in winter, quietly but persistently burning.

This work traces “the lines of wind” throughout the entire house—flowing, circling, and ultimately condensing at the courtyard entrance into a bamboo-woven flame form. Embedded within these lines are hexagonal salt crystals and dyed fabrics, revealing the permeation of coastal time and memory. The salty wind is Haikou’s everyday presence; the orange-red hues of the dyed cloth embody the vitality of coastal life. Wind and salt together shape the memory and breath of this land.
